We understand the weight of silent battles—the hormonal imbalances, PCOS, childbirth, stress, trauma—because we’ve carried them, too. Through faith, consistency, and radical self-love, I personally lost over 80 pounds and found the woman I was always meant to be.

Part 1 — The Turning‑Thirty Tiredness

I was about to turn 30… and I was tired. Tired of hiding behind baggy clothes. Tired of making sure I angled my body a certain way in pictures. Tired of not feeling beautiful, not feeling confident, not feeling me. I would stare at myself in the mirror and barely recognize the woman looking back. I was constantly trying to shrink myself in size, in presence, in worth. But deep down, I knew… something had to change.

Part 2 — Small, Steady Steps

So, I started small. I began walking on my lunch breaks—just moving my body a little more each day. I swapped scrolling for grocery shopping and errands on foot. Little things. But they added up. I was slowly starting to see progress, but I wanted more. I wanted to feel alive. I wanted to feel proud of myself again.

Part 3 — The 21‑Day Daniel Fast

Then came the moment that changed everything. One Sunday, I walked into church feeling heavy in every way—physically, emotionally, spiritually. The pastor announced a 21‑day Daniel Fast: only fruits and vegetables. No meat. No processed foods. No sugar. At first, I didn’t plan to do it. But God had other plans. That fast wasn’t just about food; it was about surrender. It was about healing. I started the journey at 220 pounds. With a few lifestyle changes, I got to 206 before the fast even began. After 21 days of complete obedience and discipline, I stepped on the scale and saw 185. But it wasn’t just the weight. It was the strength I found. The clarity. The peace. The confidence I hadn’t felt in years.

Part 4 — Life After the Fast

And let me tell you—it wasn’t easy. There were days I cried. Days I wanted to quit. But I kept going, because God kept showing up. In my weakness, He gave me strength. And every step I took, He met me there. After the fast, I couldn’t go back to how I was eating before. My body—my spirit—felt different. That’s when I leaned into a pescatarian lifestyle. I stuck to seafood, veggies, and whole foods. Were there days I craved meat? Yes. And I gave in sometimes. But my commitment never left me; I kept getting back up, again and again.

Part 5 — EvolvHER with Kay Is Born

Two years later, EvolvHER with Kay was born—not because I had it all figured out, but because I knew there were women out there just like me. Women tired of hiding. Women afraid to start. Women who needed someone to believe in them until they could believe in themselves.

Part 6 — My Rhythm Today

I’m not perfect, but I’m consistent. I kept walking and running—kept moving. My steps went from 10K to 15K to 20K a day. I worked out during lunch, after work, and whenever I had a moment. And in just three months, I went from 185 pounds to 135. Even now, I stick to what worked for me: I practice intermittent fasting—no food until 12 PM and done eating by 7 PM. I walk 2 miles on my lunch break, then do 3 miles of walking and running on the treadmill after work. I also drink water equal to half my weight (in ounces). It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
